Portsmouth stopping area needed for late night ferry

We have a 23:30hrs crossing leaving Portsmouth in mid January - my usual resource (CAMC) doesn't seem to have anywhere close by.
We are aware you can get to the ferry quite late, but prefer to be in the vicinity the night before.
Does anyone have any tips?

Why not head off from home earlier in the day and make it part of your holiday? The ferry doesnt leave till late so you will have plenty of time.
Just be aware that there are no decent food outlets at the terminal so stop off for lunch/tea on route.
Alternatively have a search Here for a site.

Many motorhomes and very occasionally a caravan use the Port Solent car park, where there are a range of eateries, including a nice clean Wetherspoons.

I hope the atmosphere at Port Solent has improved after the Naval Firefighting School moved out of the area in the mid 1990s. The complaints I had to field were never ending. No more burning old oil and tyres, now clean simulated fires using gas.. 🧑‍🚒

Now I know who it was!
Knew of your burn offs very well.

Port Solent very nice, at this very moment enjoying a meal there, no caravans today but quite a lot of motorhomes.
Edit: did a rough count on leaving, about 20 there tonight.

There is a good CL site near Fareham CL site We used it earlier this year when we had to get a AHC for the dog. Very pleasant and nice couple. As you enter your name and pitch is on a board if no one there.
Whist not of any criticality for the midnight sailing, others need to be aware that from Titchfield to the ferry port can with our traffic be a quite time consuming journey at the busy times of the day.
