probably sounds a stupid question but what is the safest way to get power to the caravan and awning.

is it possible to separate 2 leads or do you just plug into a spare socket in the caravan and extend through a window or door.

We have a socket in our wet-locker, which is very useful for powering stuff in the awning. I can't see thst it would be very difficult to wire one in (assuming you have a suitable locker) and I think that would be your best option.

Hello Michael,

I am not quite sure what your idea of a power splitter is. It is not permitted to run two cables into a single C-form plug, not only would it be physically difficult, it would prevent the cable gland in the plug body from conforming and making a water seal to the required IP rating.

But for convenience and weight saving (the EHU cables are quite heavy)I recommend you take feed from a socket in your caravan and through a window, so it benefits from the protection of your own MCB's and RCDs, and may prevent you from tripping the bollards over current protection MCB.
