powrtouch evolution - where to buy ?

i've decided to buy a Powrtouch Evolution fitted single auto mover for my newly bought Lunar 380/2.

But where is the best place to buy it from ? Powrtouchcaravanmover & caravanmoveronline both want £1075 to supply & fit. Powrwheel - the manufacturer - have sent me a price list which says £1190 fitted. Is there any benefit to getting the manufacturer to get their agent to fit it, or should I save £115 and get one of the others to do it. Any views on who has been good at fitting them ? And is the 5year guarantee as good if someone else fits it ?

The fitting will be the same whoever fits it according to the instructions, so it makes no sense to pay more for the same thing.
As far as the warranty is concerned that is with the makers, Powrtouch, who have excellent after sales service and repair, and the 5 year warranty is just that, fully covers every bit of the mover for a full 5 years.

I can certainly vouch for their aftersales and support. One of the best companies in this industry by far.

SORRY, i cant cant say about their after service, mine has never broken down, but then again I don't use it that often.

Mine was fitted by a dealer and I still get full cover.

I fitted mine myself (not difficult) and got an engineer out about 3 months later for a minor fault. All covered by the warranty.

As long as the 'registration' paperwork is filled in after fitting and returned to Powrtouch then it triggers the warranty.

Had one problem with one of mine getting off a pitch in France, had to use the car, towing unhitching turning hitching etc. Got home and found the connections to the fuse were slack. So if your able check connections if you can.

Regards where to buy, Powrtouch used to do a price match deal whereby if you gave their office a call with verifiable details of a like for like deal with a cheaper price they would match that lower price. It definitely worked for me some time back. Don't know if they still offer that deal but no harm in phoning and asking.
Over the years I have had several movers supplied and fitted to different vans, single and twin axles, all from Powrtouch and been pleased with service received from that company.

I think there may be some misunderstanding about warranty etc in this thread.

Under the consumer rights act 201(and its predecessor Sale of Goods ACt) any purchase by a consumer automatically falls under one of these two acts of parliament. They give you statutory rights which in the simplest terms says that what you buy must be "as described" and fit for purpose . If it isn't then you have some recourse against the seller (not the maker unless it sold direct) These rights cannot be usurped by any other offers.

Some manufactures offer a 'Manufacturer's Guarantee or Warrantee" These are not a statutory requirement and are entirely independent of your statutory rights above and consist of a contract between the consumer and the manufacturer.

The t&c's of the manufacturers guarantee can be quite demanding such as insisting on specific periodic services before set dates, and it can limit who can work on the goods but that is determined by the t&c's and each manufacturer can set their own requirements.

Generally acceptance of a manufacturers warrantee has to be confirmed by the consumer returning the warranty registration documents to the manufacturer.

Unless the manufacturer's t&c's specifically limit their liability to products that have been fitted or installed by an approved fitter, then there should be no penalty in cover if goods are fitted and installed by the consumer.

My problem with rights against the seller only is that they are only worthwhile if the seller is financially sound and still there. Because of this it is always worthwhile complying with the guarantee as if the seller cannot pay you have a back up. I do accept that sometimes the manufacturer or importer giving the guarantee may also not be there but it is an additional protection.
