So, after reading some excellent advice on this forum regarding the importance of regularly lubricating the sliding mechanism on motor movers I visited the van in storeage armed with my white grease and removed the covers to reveal the workings. Being aware that there is a real danger that the plastic lugs might snap off when the covers are pulled off from their mountings I 'very carefully' eased the covers off their mountings only to have virtually all the plastic lugs snap off resuting in me spending £50 on a new set of covers. Really anoying as I was aware of the possibility of damaging the lugs and also I couldn't have been any more gentle / careful.
So, apart from applying plenty of grease on the lugs and around the holes into which they fit on the new set when I fit them, is there any way of not snapping the lugs off when I remove them next year?
Also, I believe the is a screw on the new set I've ordered that's a mild anti-theft device but I'm not sure how that works as I dont have a threaded hole for it to screw into on the mover butI'm assured it will fit.
