Pump noise

Just picked up our brand new van which has been fitted with an inboard pump have read in manual that the pump should give years of quiet operation but compaired to the pump in the barrel type its far from it has anyone else experienced this problem . Ron

It seems noisier because it is inside now. If you go outside so the caravan wall is between you and the pump it will probably seem quieter than the old type. Not much help I know as you will be inside the van when using the pump. You could try making sure the hose fitting at the outside water source is pushed fully into the socket on the caravan wall, this can quieten it down a bit.

Thanks colin when i use the shower which is at the back the vibration comes through to the the back of the van plus it seems to be drawing in air from some where . there seems to be more noise when the cold is used. Ron

We have a new Pageant Series 6 with an inboard pump. I complained to the dealer about the noise and vibration but just got the stock answer that because it is inside you notice it more. It does not seem to perform any better than our old submersible pump and for something that sounds and feels like a muffled pneumatic drill it seems a retrograde step. I intend to pursue it further with the dealer.
