push fit water fittings

The first time out with Elddis last wk/end found problem with push fit connections not sealing to the flexy tap tails, One even slid off under the wash-basin,luckily we were on hand, Bought some new ones, and found they could be pulled from the tap tail. Any ideas please help. Graham

Depending on the Tap tails,plastic or brass, if brass I would purchase some stainless steel jubilee clips of the correct diameter and secure them properly, nothing worse than water leaks in a motor home, especially if the pump then empties the contents of the water tank into the van. You might not be there to stop it, by switching off the pump.

if plastic, it can still be done, but with much more restraint on the tightening, you wouldn't want to crack the tap.

Hi, The outside diameter of pipe is obviously 12mm , the o/d of the the flexible tap tail is 12 mm so plastic pipe will not go over tail to j/clip, I have just found on ebay tap tails made with fitting on end to take 12mm plastic pipe. have ordered some & should be o/k Thanks for your reply. G
