hi i have just got a caravan for the first time which is a 20 year old 2 bearth sprite rapde could anyone tell me the weight of it and have got a mitsubishi space wagon glxi could you please tell me what i can tow with this and is it a good tow car thanks

Hi Graham (via Lord B.) why not empty the van of all accessories and take it to a local weigh bridge - this will give you the unladen weight of the van. As for the maximum weight of the van including contents have you tried entering the name of manufacturer and model in a Google or Yahoo serch engine.

Regarding the car you could either do the same on Google,etc. or clean all excess out of the vehicle, fill the fuel tank up and have the vehicle weighed. Work on the 85% ratio of van to car and this will give you a good idea of the maximum tow limit for you. You could go up to 100% ratio but it is not recommended. Also check the hand book as the tow limit should be given there.
