Re gritting mover rollers

Hi everyone
New to forums, not new to caravan towing.

Back to a caravan again.
Tried motor homes (great until you run out of anything) so back to a caravan.
I did not see the state of the rollers until it got wet and the van started to skip on the mover.
I decided to look into it.
Bought a re grit kit, and did the job in the garage.
Now got the mover working fine.
Tip!!!
Follow instructions to the letter.
Clean all old grip from rollers, I used an old screwdriver and a light hammer ( wear eye goggles, this stuff flies all over)
So surprised at how easy it was.
You could do it on the van, but it may take a while longer.

I bet a lot cheaper than getting someone in or buying new rollers, well done.

It really was, I wondered if I could actually free the rollers, but 2 bolts and out it popped.
Having now done it, I posted for others to state it can be done on the van.
But! It must be quite warm, or under cover.
You can do it all in stages.
New mover £650
New rollers £150
Home re grit £32
Perfect solution

No brainer as to what to do, even if a user try’s and it’s no good you haven’t exactly lost a great deal.

It is so so easy, once the rollers are out.
I put the rollers on BBQ skewers inside a cardboard box, this enables you to roll them whilst painting, and catches the grit.
Now back on the van, and it works perfect.

You sound like you can put your hands to anything with good instructions, we usually know 'a man who can'. Both work okay, pleased you can save money. keep going and you must be proud of the result.

Our first motor mover had "grit" covered rollers.Before the guarentee expired,one of the roller's covering stripped off the roller.It was replaced under warranty.The thing is - it still worked ok,even up an incline.

Mine jumped, especially on wet grass, most sites are grass, so I replaced the grit.
