Evening all!

Just back from our second weekend away in the caravan, complete newbies so completely unaware of what’s available to make life easier when touring.

Connected the aqua roll up yesterday but we were on a fully serviced pitch and I thought “wouldn’t it be a good idea if there was something you could use to connect the caravan directly into the water tap?!”

Fast forward to today when I found out that there is such a thing and that it’s also possible to connect the grey waste on a fully serviced pitch in a way that stops me from needing the wastemaster.

Both would have saved some time during our stay.

Anyone have any other suggestions to handy things you’ve bought or other ways of doing things?

Never had any issues with the shower yet touch wood and the only thing we’ve needed a USB port for would be our phones but we’ve got a wireless charger inside the caravan so all good!

I used Milenco ones but there are other makes very similar such as Carastack.

If you can find a pair of Bebbington Leg Extenders they are brilliant but the company no longer make them. But occasionally they pop up on EBay.

stack a pads - any good

Hi we have booked a site which is fairly unlevel. To assist in levelling the van front to back we need to put something under the legs to add extra hight. My question, has anybody used stack a pads? sold in blocks of 4 I think by pyramid. Are they stong enough? How high can you stack them...

We have four of these blocks even though er have self levelling and they have saved our bacon on more than one occasion. HERE.

Just what I need. To easy to knock out mixture leveler while using toilet. Unplanned showers aren't fun.

If you use serviced pitches then this is handy. It allows you to have your aqua roll feed permanently attached but still allow you to fill water bottles or containers at the tap.

Thinking about the stacking pads, before we had the caravan everything I read was saying to never use the legs as the levelling mechanism as they’re only designed to support the caravan when it has been levelled. Using stacking pads is going against that surely?

Is it ok to use these to level the caravan off or should ramps or another item be used?

You're never going to use the corner steadies to level the van. Always ramps under the wheels first, then front-to-back with the jockey wheel.
The need for pads, or stacking pads, or leg extenders is just about compensating for the different ground conditions when you're not on a levelish hardstanding pitch. So, maybe some plywood squares to spread the load when you're on wet ground or soft grass. Or, possibly, stacking pads for when you're on a really sloping pitch and one or other of the corner steadies won't reach the ground even when fully lowered. But in my experience, if the site is quite slopy then you will find convenient bricks or concrete blocks left around by the site owners, and a concrete block is going to be a great deal more stable to wind the steady against then anything in moulded plastic. For sure, being prepared is a good thing. But it would be madness to carry some concrete blocks with you just in case.....
If the site is very sloped, such that one end of the caravan is a long way off the ground, you probably won't sleep anyway, for dreaming about whether its going to roll away in the night. Better to move to a different location..
