What is the make and model ,year of the OP unit?
An average Air con for a caravan is circa 33kgs. A hell of a lot more than an Omnivent.
Can the roof structure take the additional weight?
It was offered by the dealership but at a much higher price. So presumably the roof can accept the weight.

We never felt the need for aircon even when down in southern. France. The Omnivent in our Bailey was particularly useful and well used.

I suggest don't get AC. Try the caravan out, you may find you don't need it. Any way it can always be retrofitted. This could save you several hundred pounds and of course the weight of the gear.

I can't help feeling your trying to run before your sure you can walk.

Heaven forbid, but you might find you hate some aspect of caravaning and want out of it. All these extra's your going for will cost you, and they wont make their money back if you decide to sell.

Also by taking your time you will gain a better understanding of what's going to work best for you.
