Renault Laguna 1.9Dci or Peugeot 407 1.6 HDi 110

Hi, Has anyone towed with either a Laguna 1.9DCi estate or Pug 407 1.6 HDi 110 estate? Do they make good towing cars.

We'll be towing either an Avondale Dart 6 berth or Baily Ranger 6 berth.

Thanks

Hi Brian

I had a 2002 Laguna 2.2dci sport tourer for three years.

It handled the Bailey Pageant Vendee with no problem at all. But I did fit Grayston rear spring assistors just to bolster up the back. It wasn't that it sagged too much but with all the awning and other gear the Graystons kept it very level . Power wise , it was effortless although 6th gear sometimes was just that bit too high.

I did 90k miles in her and apart from one of the xenon headlight transformers breaking nothing went wrong.

Cheers

Alan

Brian,

I towed an Ace Jubilee Viceroy (2006) model with the Peugeot 407 1.6 Hdi.

Very surprising as a tow car. It took us to Mablethorpe, Wales, Devon, Cornwall, and Great Yarmouth with no real issues. Plan ahead and the hills are no real problem.

Nose weight is mean at 65kg, but possible with careful loading.

A word of caution though. I had one of the first of the ferry into the UK and it had stacks of issues. So if the one you are considering is dark blue and the reg starts BL04, steer well clear. The lease hire company was sick of this car and so was Peugeot!!
