I have a new renault megane 1.4 registered 2004. I am looking for a small 2 berth caravan. My Kerb weight is 1145 kg (85% is 973kg) according to my hand book my "maximum permissible towing weight braked" is 1300kg. Does anyone know of any make or style of caravan that would meet my criteria. Thanks to anyone that can help me.

I also have a 1.4 16V Megane and, after a LOT of research we bought an Eriba Familia 310GT. This is a 3 berth which weighs (from memory) 710Kg with an allowable payload of 140Kg.

The van is built by Hymer (who built motorhomes), and apparently is very aerodynamic.

The Megane tows this van very well, so long as you allow for the fact that you will need to change gear a bit more often.

Eriba do a Puck version which is a very small 2 berth, and they all have pop-tops - no toilet in either of these.
