Renault Senic Grande

Thinking of buying a senic grande, has anyone got an experience or give me some facts and figures. Tow with a picasso at the mo. pulling a Bailey Discovery 516 but looking for a different 5 berth van.

cheers john

Because the Renault Grand Scenic is restricted to a maximum permissible gross train weight of 3050kg, you would not even be able to tow your current caravan legally if both car and caravan are fully laden. The maximum laden weight of the car is around 2200kg (it varies a bit depending on the specification), which would only leave 850kg towload. You'd be better off keeping the Picasso with its 1300kg max. towload and no further restriction on gross train weight.

I have a 1.9d version - have found it to be very stable and tows my Bailey Ranger 500/5 well. Pulls van at 60 MPH in 6th returning 32MPG.

Andrew, you had better be careful not to exceed the max. gross train weight of the Grand Scenic as your Ranger 500/5 is even slightly heavier than John's Discovery 516. You will certainly not be able to load the car up very much without the outfit becoming illegal.
