Repair quotes

Recently, I had an altercation with a gate post (well my caravan did). Not major damage - smashed battery box cover, scuff to side and damaged wheel spat.
I've found it hard to find somewhere to get a quote for the repairs local to me - I wonder if anyone has any experience or recommendations in the Shropshire area please?
I'm insured with the CC so will be an insurance job all being well - costs permitting. It's a 1994 van so I need the repair costs to be sensible to avoid a write off situation.

Hello Reggie,
I'm sorry to read of your damaged caravan. I don't know which dealers in Shropshire could help you, but I susspect you may have a problem with the insurance. The reason is its a 20 year old caravan, and oem parts are unlikley to be available new. It will almost cetainly require secondhand parts, as insurers are reluctant to allow second hand parts for repairs they pay for.
You may best looking to pay for the repairs yourself, or be prepared for quite a lot of negotiation with the insurers.

There is Salops in Shropshire but recent experience regarding a potential purchase showed that they like to load their prices. Closer to Birmingham there is Chichester Caravans who have a full repair shop and did repairs to our caravan and it looked like new! Their quote was very reasonable and accepted immediately by our insurer.

Thanks for the replies. We have now had an estimate from a local company who has come on recommendation. It looks a sensible price, so I will pop it over to the CC and see what the response is. Thanks again.
