Replace mixer taps

Hi everyone, hope you all ok. Today I need advise on changing my caravan Kitchen mixer tap. When I turn on the water using the knobs the water seems to leek from the joint where the spout swivels. Its ok when they are not on, because they have a micro switch in them.

I was wondering about how to get the unit out and wether or not I need to dismatle anything. The caravan is a 1990 Swift challenger. Thanks everyone.

I have the same problem. I had my van serviced at home yesterday and that was one of the things that was picked up on.

I was told to take the sink out to gain access. To remove the taps you need to take off the screw covers in each corner and unscrew it.

I haven't tried yet, still pondering!

Hi Geraldine, I hope to get up to the caravan this week and sort it out. I will post back and let you know how I got on. Cheers for your response.

There is no need to take off the sink. I replaced min usingf the following method. First of all go outside and take off the top Vent cover. You can now access the underneath of the tap. This is held in place with a large plastic nut. Slacken off this nut and the tap is ready to be removed. Back into the van and follow where the two pipes from the tap goes to. The new taps come complete with these two pipes fitted. So it is just a case of disconnecting the old pipes and connecting the new ones. DON'T forget to thread the new pipes through the plastic nut you have disconnected. Hope this helps. I have recently done mine. Ken
