Replacing a 7 pin socket

Can anyone tell me if replacing a 7 pin socket(the grey one for the fridge/battery charger) on a car is any easy job ?

Do I need to disconnect the car's battery to do so ?

Thanks

Martin

Martin, changing the socket is relatively easy, as it is simply a case of wiring like for like.

It is always advisable to either disconnect the battery or if you can identify the fuses for the live feed and fridge feed, pull those fuses whilst doing the job to avoid any possiblility of shorting any of the wires and causing damage.

Hi Martin, as Damian said it is only a matter of changing wire for wire after you have isolated the 12volt feed. My supply was off the battery with an extra inline fuse next to the battery.

If your going to disconnect the battery make sure you have radio codes and immobiliser reset information first.
