Hi Gordon. We did the same job on our 1991 Swift. It was just a matter of undoing the screws inside round the edge, pulling off the skylight, and picking off the very tacky, sticky sealant. Then make sure surface is clear of dirt dust and remaining sealant, apply new layer right round opening and firmly press new skylight into place. The sealant we used was the stuff on a roll, like very sticky blu-tac (sorry can't remember proper name).

Hi Gordon

You need to remove all of the old sealant before applying the new stuff. When I did one I used a small plastic scraper, a bit like the type used for removing frost from windscreens, and white spirit on a bit of cloth. It's important to get a good seal on the new one, and any excess sealant can be wiped off afterwards using the white spirit. It's a fairly straightforward job to replace like with like. (I have a disability and I did it.) Hope this helps
