Request for information on Saab 95 Estate

Hi,

I have a Saab 93 2.2 Tid, which I use to tow an avondale rialto 550. I find it to be an excellent tow car, even though there never seems to be much mention of them in the magizines. I like the Saab, and Iam thinking of changing to a Saab 95 estate,to get a little more space. I recall reading one time in one of the magizines, that they can be a bit unstable, because of the greater distance of overhang at the rear wheels.

I would really appreciate any information from anyone who tows with a Saab 95 estate, and whether or not it makes a competent tow car

Thanks,

Fred

I have a 95 estate (55 plate) and cannot fault it. Drove down to Spain last summer and it performed superbly. Bit thirsty but that was my fault for buying petrol!!

Had no stability problems whatsoever.

Go for it!

I know it's pedantic but you're referring to the Cavalier/Vectra-based Saab 9-3 and 9-5, not the Saab 95 which was built several decades ago and had the charismatic 3-cylinder two-stroke engine.

hi Fred

Just looking through forum and saw this hope i am not to late. Right then i own a 95,30tdi estate on a 02 plate, and what a car i some times forget i have caravan on back with the power under the bonnet stabilty is 100% better than my tractor disco also return 30 miles while towing a abbey 417 with 2 kids in back. Last year toured south of france in augest with no problems at all. Go for mate you wont regret it at all. Oh must point out careful of the turbo kicks in at 2,000 revs and what a boost takes some time to get use too.

You are right saab does not get enough credit for a fine car maybe everyone wants a cheap mondeo estate with a plastic dashboard and no traction in the wet.
