Hi Kevin

Yes I use this Forum for a good laugh as well as help when things go wrong. The VAST majority use it as it should be but you no doubt have experience of the more needy attention seeking rather sad individual who acts like a lout.

At one time it seemed that he had considerable support but it turned out he was just good with a keyboard.

I definitely think he should get out more!

Perhaps he could try caravanning!

Well, CliveV, I must admit to being very disappointed! I went away for a few days, and all this happened in my absence!What on earth will happen to our beloved forum when I leave it for six weeks in August/September? All joking aside, I enjoy this forum for what you all describe it as- a place for a load of banter and good natured backchat, with a serious thread if needed. We do not need the likes of the trolls.When I post, I have to use a password which is exclusive to me.How, therefore, was someone able to use CliveV's nic?I may be thick, but would somebody please explain in simlple language that I can understand?

There is a facility for existing users to change their nickname once they are logged in. This is a common feature on most forums.

That's what happened on Friday night - someone changed their nickname to CliveV. I closed that user down on Saturday morning and deleted all his/her posts.

With the greatest of respect Your Moddyship this is the only site I have ever used where you can change your nic to one thats already being used. For security reasons whatever nic you have should be particular to you. You are correct in saying that they allow you to change but only to a nic not being used by anyone else. When I first came to this site I logged on under my real name, Chris, but then found that there was already a Chris so I changed to my surname Braykewynde ;O) Since then I haven't seen the original Chris so I decided to do a search to see if he/she is still here so I searched under Chris. What did I find? All the posts Ive done under my present nic. If I changed nics now all my past posts would change to my new nic so why does it still show the old nic under search? hmmmm weird.

Our forum engine does allow duplicate nics. We all know it shouldn't, but it does.

Lord B - the Welsh lilt is made in Heaven, there is no way anybody could capture the true Welsh lilt no matter how they try. There have been many attempts but all they are doing is making themselves look silly. I can see I will have my hands full in trying to educate you along the lines of a true Welsh person and their way of life,

Unfortunately Colin you are right, nobody as ever captured a Welsh Lilt. I believe the Lilt is like the Sasquatch ,Yeti or Loch Ness Monster, it is in the mind. Many is the time I have been driving over the Heads of the Valley's road and heard singing from the small villages - " Is there a Lilt living onnnn our hillside - is there a Lilt living innnn our vales". You are again right in themselves looking silly Colin, it just looks ridiculous all those people tramping across the hills shouting "Where are you Lilt, come out nice Lilt we have something for you" while offering a sheep as an inducement. My own opinion is that the Lilt was something dreamt up by the Welsh Tourist Board.

god, have only been away for 2 weeks,what have i been missing?

not too good on these computer subjects, so do not know how or

why people try to hi jack the system,but i will tell you 3 weeks

ago i was unable to log on! and there seemed to be some confusion over my ip address?

well just to say i have had the same ip address for years and my

email address is the same one i have had for 6 years!

so i have to ask where did this confussion come from?

or is this site not secure?

Gio, this site is not secure. All passwords etc go over a clear text protocol and there is no confirmation that this site is the one you think it is.

I can make a site, secure, faster and easer to use than this, for free and in one night.

The web has moved on from a bunch of hacks creating bad sites to something more stable and usable. This website however is stuck in the 1990's.

RE spelling, it was someone picking up my spelling mistakes and not the otherway round. So, before the two provocaters start up again, get the facts right. I would have thought the moderator would have spotted your remarks and removed them, but it seems that insults are allowed from certain members.

The young caravan club web site even seems to have a far more secure and pro site than are patrons here!

So what are we going on about, they either sort it or they don't, we only contribute! We don't own! So forget "provocateur".

If you guys feel frustrated try " www.agentprovocateur.com " there are a few security issues there and it will soon be Valentines day ladies of the site or if any lady partners queery what you are looking at :-0

A comment from youngcaravan.org.uk - if it helps. we had problems with spammers for a while, our techies moved us on to a new server and all problems have stopped. we had people come on and try and spoil things but their IP addresses were blocked and problem was solved. if you need any more info, log on and put a thread on, someone will be able to give you more info. Good luck!
