But in the real world, they prove effective in hot conditions! If the fridges were fitted correctly by the caravan manufacturer as per the fridge manufacturer's instruction there probably would be no need to fit fans?

We had a lot of issues with fridges on our previous Lunar and then the 2016 Buccaneer. But in the real world, they prove effective in hot conditions!
As said earlier, I fitted an adjustable thermostat on mine. In hot weather you could tell it was operating as I could just hear the fans cut in and out which occurred more often as it got hotter, as to be expected.I have a fan but never got around to fitting it. Fridge has performed perfectly without. But if we were going down the South of France or Spain in the high summer fitting would become top of my prep list.
Has anyone noticed any real difference with or without in the U.K.?
It's not a matter of location, it a matter of ambient conditions, If the conditions are adverse, then a fan would help whether in Truro or Timbuktu. However the occasions where the ambient conditions in Truro might call for a fan are present;y far fewer than in Timbuktu.I have a fan but never got around to fitting it. I can't help feeling that might be overkill. For a negligible cost of installation
in my case I fitted them as an option, two fans at the bottom vent on induction and large single one at the top on extraction
I suspect the problem is not quite as simple as that. The performance of the fridge is affected by the ambient temperature in which its used, Unfortunately there is no single combination of refrigerant fluids that will encompass all the possible ambient temperatures around the world, so you can find that certain models of fridge may be offered with different mixes of refrigerant fluids for differnt marketing areas. There may also be other design variations related to the region it will be sold in.It raises the question , has the manufacturer designed their fridge correctly?
I don' think the issuer is with the design of the fridge, but rather then way it is fitted by caravan manufacturers i.e. not sealed in correctly, venting into the awning etc.It raises the question , has the manufacturer designed their fridge correctly?
Manufacturer didn't fit awning, user did.I don' think the issuer is with the design of the fridge, but rather then way it is fitted by caravan manufacturers i.e. not sealed in correctly, venting into the awning etc.
You miss the point entirely.Manufacturer didn't fit awning, user did.
On my Coachman, when the main door is open, it covers the fridge vents, about 2 inches clearances, and then Coachman wonder why the stick on Black decal panel becomes debonded. You miss the point entirely.
Same with the Buccaneer and our previous Lunar Delta however no decals in the area. Sometimes you wonder who designs caravans? On my Coachman, when the main door is open, it covers the fridge vents, about 2 inches clearances, and then Coachman wonder why the stick on Black decal panel becomes debonded.
Floor space is limited there are only so many places in kitchen where one will fit. Just so happens behind door that needs to open rearwards is most common.Same with the Buccaneer and our previous Lunar Delta however no decals in the area. Sometimes you wonder who designs caravans?
