Reversing a caravan

Hi

Pull forward slow then reverse back slow. This should solve any problem. The times I see people come in at 30mph slam on the brakes put it in reverse bring the rev,s so the engine is screeming then try to reverse faster then thay came in forward.

We've had a thread (or more) on this in the past - in that case, from Ford Galaxies. I've towed with three Galaxies now (and two different caravans, regularly serviced), and had a dreadful smell clutch whenever reversing. It even happened on the CC manoeuvering course!

One tip received was to drive forward a litle before reversing.
I have the same problem with my Alhambra Tdi Jeff. Even pulling forward slightly before reversing doesn't help. It happened last year so badly that the car stunk of burnt clutch for days!
