riverside park,wooler

Have not stayed there for many many years , but drive past it regularly on the way south. It has a very large number of statics and on the other side of the road a new park of holiday bungalows is being put up. Not my cup of tea, but the area is of course nice, and full of people from the Newcastle area at the weekends.

Hi Kathryn

If you are put off by Scotch lad's description of the Wooler site perhaps you would like to look on the web at South Meadows Caravan Park. Although it is a private site the facilities are very good/excellent. Wooler can be visited if you wish. South Meadows is just outside the village of Belford (about 1/2 mile off the A1 - but don't worry the traffic noise isn't a trouble). It is situated about 5 miles in land from Bambrough and Alnwick, Seahouses, Berwick, Edinburgh, etc. are easily accessible.

Hope this is helpful.

We visited this site one weekend and it was a nightmare. The bar was full of kids and drunken parents.

A number of caravanners set up as if they owned the place with windbreaks and gazebo's. Set up their BBQ and loud music well into the early hours.

Why not try Hightburn house also in Wooler Village, its quiet and well layed out.
