Roof Mounted satellite

I did a quick look at this last year and am now considering having an automated dish fitted.

Has anyone got one? what make is it and more important will it work across europe?

Thanks

Steve

The Oyster range work throughout most of Europe dependant on which dish size you opt for. For southern Spain you need as larger dish as possible.

I won't be having another one however, as you really need a good compass in the car to enable you to select a pitch where the dish can see the satellite (no trees/buildings in the way).

I now use a Triax 80cm, folding arm dish on a Maxview tripod, this allows the dish to be moved around to obtain a clear view of the satellite.

Set up time is circa 5 minutes.

Hi we have a roof mounted dish which is a manual one, you have a handle and dial inside and turn it to suit. This normally takes about 2 minutes to set up and has worked well in Holland and the south of France. It is very easy to set up because you can see the tv whilst making adjustments.

Steve,

Why do you need to see the TV to set up your dish?

I set mine up with a Sat meter from outside the caravan, there can be too much delay when using the strength and quality bars on the TV.
