Route info required please - Mid Wales

Going Porthmadog next week in our caravan which is stored near Market Drayton but im bit concerned over what route to take. We only got a small engine car (1.4) so im bit worried about any really steep inclines. My 2 options are to go thru Welshpool then Dollegau and head north OR go thru Whitchurch and LLangollen an the A5.

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

1.4i Astra towing a 12ft Avondale Perle.

A5 is your best route, it's easy, scenic, plenty of stopping areas, should take you about an hour and 3/4's.
