Route to Frejus/St Tropez

Hi, We're travelling to the South of France for the last two weeks in August and looking for the best route (avoiding the motorways). We plan to take 3/4 days to get there and then do the return in 2 days to get back to Calais in time for our 6pm boat. Can anybody recommend some decent sites for a night or two - preferably with a pool and a bar. Thanks
 
This is a nice site, slightly inland away from the hustle and bustle of coast. We are there aug 12
