RSA pulling out of Private Car Insurance

RSA announces departure from UK personal lines motor market.
An announcement in todays Insurance press. Anyone with them will soon be looking elsewhere.

They have a huge private car portfolio and would be a far smaller company if they gave up private cars altogether. They are not very cheap, but very good, so in many cases broker business which relies on the cheapest quote whatever the company involved does not go their way and has possibly meant it was no longer worthwhile.

Check that again. They are pulling out of <broker> sourced business, but their More Than> direct insurance will continue unchanged.
Does this help ?

It proved very difficult to find more on this but the Post Magazine the insurance business magazine does confirm this.

I read it in the Insurance Times. Clearly driven by their Canadian owners The Intact Financial Corporation .Let’s hope no others follow suit or I can see our premiums increasing dramatically.
