Hi all

Can anyone tell me what is the max noseweight for the Ford S-max 2.0 tdci. CC website quotes 80kg, but two of their other figures, I know to be inaccurate, so I'm just after confirmation if poss. No self levelling suspension, if this makes any difference.

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin

I have been looking at one of these myself and I do know that the Ford web page says all models noseweight 90kg.

Thanks x11

Think I'll go into dealer tomorrow. I'll post their answer.

By the way, it is a cracking car. Mine is 6 weeks old with 6.5k on now, and I just can't find anything I'd wish to change. Have only put the van on once and towing 1500kg is a breeze. I would certainly reccomend it

Hi Kevin

Great to hear you are pleased with your S-Max, I am looking to purchase one very soon to tow our Sterling Eccles Jewel which is also 1500kg. Any further comment would be much welcomed (I am looking at the 2.0l TDCi Titanium)

Rgds

It is a great tow car i can vouch for that having now had ours for nearly 9 month and towed the coachman vip 530 for about 1500 miles the car is proving to be every bit as good as my old alhambra.

one thing i have found is that my fuel consumption was around 40 mpg average before the first service. when the car went in i explained that it was showing some faults with the engine which most people on here have allso complained about ie, juddering on the over run stalling for no reason and general rough running when cold, when i collected the car they adviced me that all the faults i had noted where known faults and the car had been re- programmed with a new computer map and i have to say it is a completely different car to drive, no more shuddering no more black smoke no more stalling when cold and best of all the car now returns an average of 46 mpg.

We are very happy with the car indeed but i must say that when we bought ours we where adviced that the nose weight limit was the same as the new galaxy at only 75 kgs which is a problem with such a heavy van as ours but but we have achievedd it with carefull loading, it would be interesting to learn if it is higher as it would make my life so much easier.
