Hi, has anyone used Saga for caravan cover i have had a really good quote from them.
Its half the cost of Caravan club but i am wary of other caravan insurers.
But i got a really good deal from them for house and contents and they were pleasant to deal with, so i am not sure what to do.

Other than one of their clients ran into my car once I have not had any dealings with them. They did come out number one in a recent car insurance survey so they must be doing something right.

This applies to all insurance policies, and not just to company named by the OP. Don't just go on the price of the policy. read the T&C carefully, and compare them with the CC's T&C. Evaluate carefully each clause, because whilst the CC cover may seem expensive, the policies they offer are tailored to caravanners and their particular needs. Things like recovery costs, security requirements, storage criteria, what items are actually covered.

It may be laborious to do but by making that comparison you may save a few pounds now but end up a lot more than that if you need to claim.

A few years ago Saga were one of two who said their policies didn't cover towing caravans!!
There was an uproar and I believe the issue resolved.
I strongly recommend they confirm in writing you are covered for towing a caravan as required by the RTA. Do not be fobbed off with the word "trailer".
Remember Saga is an Intermediary NOT the actual Insurer. Do you know who the underwriter is?
Otherwise I agree with the Prof be very careful and check the policy wordings.

Many years ago we changed our insurance to the Caravan Club, following advice from other forum users, who unfortunately had to made a claim and in doing so received excellent service. We haven't yet had to make a claim, but have every confidence with their good record of dealing swiftly with claims.
