Santa Fe Clutch - New model (Manual)

Has anyone had any problems with the clutch when reversing with the caravan ? Mine seems to smell quite badly when slipping the clutch when reversing slowly

Had similar on a site in Wales a few years ago with a then new Sportage.
It was a lighter van than we tow now but on reversing the site owner commented on a smell as if the clutch were burning.
It's one thing I was paranoid about when manoeuvring the caravan on sites, in fact if I wasn't using an auto I'd be tempted to invest in a mover.
We find the auto absolutely brilliant.

I dont know much about your car, has it got a 4x4 low selection on it as mthe Sorento has? If so then do what I do when reversing with the van on the back, select 4x4 low then let the clutch out slowly with no extra revs and let the torque on tick over take the outfit backwards with your foot totally off the clutch.
I find that the speed is just about right for reversing into pitch.
