Satelite and phone connection

I have not got Sky tv at home. A friend gave me his old Sky box to play with. I have a satelite dish that I bought from Lidl's which works great but can't receive C4 and C5. There is no slot to put a Sky card on the receiver. I thought that with the Sky box I could get all the channels if I bought a one off card from Sky.

When I try to set up the Sky box it says that there is no phone line attached. Does anyone know how I get around this problem? How do people take their Sky boxes away in their vans as there are no phone lines there?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Graeme.

Hi Just ignore the phone connection bit ,chanel 4& 5 are encrypted ,buy your self a sky card for a one of price of

Graeme states that there is no card slot on the receiver so will need to wait until Ch4 goes "free to air".

His receiver can't be a Sky digibox.
I read it as the LIDL box which we have has not got a card reader but the Sky box has and as mentioned this is the way to get 4&5 channels
