Satelitte tripod

Can anyone recommend a tripod support for a satelitte dish please, i was going to make my own but i have run out of time before first trip.

Steve

Hi Steve, I bought a fishing tripod from go outdoors for £5. Cut the rivots off holding the bracket on that the rods sit in and then if your dish has a bracket that has a flat plate just drill and bolt together. The other way is to get a pole the same diameter as your jockey wheel and remove the wheel on site and put the pole into that bracket then fasten the dish to the pole with the correct clamps. The only trouble with this one is that if your pole is not high enough to go above the caravan and the caravan is sitting the wrong way round then it might be a bit awkward to get a signal. With the first way you can put the dish any where around the outside of the caravan.
All this is not much help if you have no time to do it before you go away though.

Hello Steve,
I use our washing line, which has a very stable tripod. We are still able to use it to hang washing, provided we do not cover the dish.
Argos offer one at £34-99, their ref. 850/1848, on page 988 of the latest catalogue. It has a 40mm dia. pole, and looks like it could be the same one as we have. With this solution, you cover two bases with one purchase.
Regards,
George

Thanks for your replies, i have found one on Amazon which looks like it should be ok. I'll find out when it arrives.

Steve.
