We are planning to visit Scotalnd in September, from the West Midlands. We like quiet sites that accept dogs. We use our own facilities but like a hook up if possible. We are in both clubs. Suggestions very welcome.
I agree that Craigtoun Meadows is a great site but be aware they no longer accept dogs. There are a number of good sites around about the dumfries area, Seaward nr kirkubright is very good, quiet with great views over the sea and close to the town (5mins in the car). We're trying Kifford Holiday Park this weekend as it was recommended by a friend. CC Ayr site is good (craigie gardens). St Andrews (Craigtoun meadows) is really good but avoid mid July as the Open golf is on. If you are going to try any of the sites up North they will be very bad for midges... we live in Scotland and they were terrible at the weekend!
Atruly wonderfull site, great scenery, lovely helpfull people...the town is nice and the swimming pool in the town is great for the kids.Just back (yesterday!) from Glen Nevis, just outside Fort William. Stunning location, extremely well managed and the most excellent facilities for those who need them.
Also excellent base for the area.
Hi,we are traveling to scotland in september hoping to stay at moffat, luss, onich and shiel bridge.we have heard horror stories about the midges up there at certain times of the year.are these stories true? we would be grateful for any information you have.
