Scratch Removal

Does anyone have any suggestions, or warnings, for the best removal of scratches on both windows and paintwork of a caravan. These were sustained by unavoidably having to push past bushes and trees in a section of roadworks. (Se my other post, 'Word of Warning' in UK Sites. The scratches don't appear to be too deep but they are quite extensive.

Thanks in advance.

Hi John,

I have always used Brasso or toothpaste to polish out scratches on my windows. The paint will need to be studied to see if it had been scored down to the metal. Anything too abrasive on the paint will expose the metal as the paint is very thin.

I found that a good liquid polish on the windows also did the the trick but on the paint work be careful nothing more abrasive than brasso

HI John

I replied in your other post as well.

A decent auto polish (note, not T-Cut or other such awful stuff) will certainly lessen the damage if not removing it completely. Try and find an auto-detailer near you. These guys have high quality polishes and machines including paint thickness gauges.

Hope this helps

Dom
