Sealing small crack - second go at posting

We had our 8 year old van checked for damp before the winter and the engineer said there was a small crack at the top of the back panel near where it joined the frame - tightened too much he reckoned. Anyway, he suggested silicon to seal it but has anyone done this before and knows of the best thing to use and any tips to do it ?

Hi Pinto, not 100% sure where you problem is but what I would suggest is yes if its only a small crack you could silicone it but first you need to stop it going any further so if the crack is not too obvious drill a small hole at each end of the crack this should stop it going any further you could use a filler such as P38 that is flexible or silicone the choice is yours. This is just my idea as I obviously cannot see the job to be done .
I hope this helps .... Sir Roger

Thanks for your reply. We had a new front panel under warranty with the same problem, but not a back one when we have to pay !! It's a CoachmanVIP and our engineer has a Coachman pastiche with the same problem ? What do we pay more for ?????
Thanks for your advice
