Secondary Door Lock

Good morning.
Has anyone fitted a Fiamma or Milenco type secondary door lock specifically to a 2016 Coachman VIP 575/4?
This model has a plastic moulding around the door frame and the gap between the door frame and window is very narrow, I think these things may pose a problem unless someone knows otherwise.
Also, can anyone tell me what the electronic device (pictured) attached to the cold water pipe is please? My caravan uses a submersible pump in the Aquaroll so, I'm thinking it's a pressure switch possibly?

I dont know about the lock.

Also I have not come accross the gizzmo before, but I cab see it has a Truma label. Perhaps you could google the numbers on the lable, if you dont get help here.

Next, the two wires to the top left, appear to terminate at a pipe, jwhich just looks odd.

That device looks like an older version of the electronic pressure switch - I have one which I fitted in our old Pageant and transferred to our present Lunar - it was made/supplied by Midelec who do mainly boat stuff but it's no longer available - maybe Truma bought the rights.

The two connectors on the left are connecting to the inlet housing for the submersible pump - which would confirm my suggestion.

Personally, and from a (previous) professional point of view, I wouldn't bother with a secondary door lock. Caravans are hopelessly insecure items and such a lock is, for all intents and purposes useless.
Over the years I attended a good few caravan break ins and those over to door locks did nothing to prevent access by other openings (which seemed to be the favoured method)

Back in 2005 we were at the CMHC Sandringham site and the couple in the caravan next to us went out and couldn't unlock the door on their return. I "broke in" for them in under ten minutes using only what was to hand. I won't detail what I did but it really does align with what Plod says. There's easier entry points to a caravan than the door alone.

The OP has a 2016 van, and the common Whale switch has been around forever. But it appears that it is indeed a pressure switch which says it does not need that tedious adjustment. So why then is it not fitted more commonly?

I think the answer is it costs about £20 per unit more.

I'm going to forget about fitting the secondary door lock for all the reasons mentioned above.

I was just curious about what now turns out to be a pressure switch.
