Our caravan is stored at the side of our house behind a gate/fence - which for some years has been OK. The caravan is well protected with a hitchlock, concrete slabs in front and a security light. However, recently someone has on two occasions climbed the fence into our back garden and tried to gain entry -we think children, as an an adult would presumably have gained access if they wanted.

Already had to change a lock and there is some minor damage.

Any recommemdation for a caravan alarm or other security measure that may help?

Thanks

Bernard

Bernard, we have had to resort to security cameras connected to the video recorder to record any goings on , and so far this has resulted in 3 people being caught attempting to access our van.

A double camera system from B&Q is good enough if the cameras are sited well, and a 100w floodlight is better than a higher wattage at night.

Bernard,

You could also grow some berberis up the fence.( as well as the gripperrod of course ).

Possibly the sight of a gibbet with a noose might help.........

Good luck mate

In addition to the gripper rods I would suggest also paint underseal [ soft type ] along the top as well.

Its a cheap option and it works. But only to keep kids out. If they were desperate all they have to do is throw a piece of carpet over the top of the fence.

Your best bet is an alarm of some sort.
