Seitz pleated blinds

Not sure if this affects any other brands. We have a 2011 Lunar Delta which appears to have pleated blinds, but I am not sure if they are Seitz blinds. Before even taking delivery of the caravan last month, on testing the blinds on all three in the front, the end caps came off.

Copied the below from the Swift talk website :-

"Stiff operation of Pleated Blinds
Following an extensive investigation into complaints raised on this forum regarding the Seitz Soft Rollo three sided pleated window blind with our supplier, 'Seitz' we have identified some inconsistencies in their process of tensioning the blind cords.
Correct cord tensioning is necessary to ensure that both the blind fabric and flyscreen material are retained and operate correctly. In some cases the tension has been excessive leading to the blind and flyscreen being stiff in operation, this can then also cause the parting of the end caps from the aluminium handle bar.

Seitz have now corrected this and made the necessary process improvements to eradicate the problem and ease the operation of the blind and flyscreen.
We sincerely apologise to any customers who have experienced this problem with their blinds. Those customers that have a faulty blind are asked to contact their supplying dealer to arrange to have their blind replaced under warranty.

Additional stocks of blinds are currently being scheduled in to the UK to support our dealer network. Models affected are;

I believe Swift have the same problem

All the caravans mentioned in the post are Swift. The clue is "Swift forum" at the beginning of the post

Some new 2011/12 Lunar models have the Seitz blinds as confirmed by Lunar yesterday.

Darn blinds have gone faulty again with the addition of the bathroom blind going faulty. Surely we are not the only ones with this problem? Seems to only affect blinds in 2010/2011 models?

Had a few of my blinds (Delta RS) repaired under warranty but one of the front ones is still a bit tempermental and sometimes it is stiff but not all of the time!

It is certainly an issue that does not appear to have an obvious answer to except to replace the blind.

Up to now the dealer has been repairing the problem, but perhaps as they have realised now that as it is an inherent fault, even in 5 years time you can get the repair FOC which is why they are now replacing the faulty blinds.!
