Self Levelling a Caravan

Has anyone had fitted a self levelling system other than E&P, I've been looking into this but not found anyone trying a different make.
I have read that some of you with this system do have a few problems from time to time.

No personal experience of owning/using such a system but have seen it in use.
My big concern with this type of system is the huge chunk it takes out of an already low payload.

I have always viewed automatic caravan levelling systems as a very expensive solution to a problem that doesn't actually exist! Plus I concur with Mr Grumpy re weight.
Others clearly feel differently.

Yes I get what you mean, We haven't got a motor mover as we seem to manage without one. Did think about buying those axle stands which static's use to make it more stable when on a pitch.

Stability shouldn’t be a problem as between your wheels, jockey wheel and four corner steadies there’s not an issue. All you might have to do is adjust the steadies as the caravan “settles” a bit on some pitches.

It's hard to credit the "hassle" of fitting, then removing axle stands, plus the hassle & extra weight associated with transporting them, warrants their usefulness, on anything less than a long winter's "static" deployment.

If anything has been learnt in near 50 years of touring caravanning it is try to de-hassle it! Far from got there.
Then I realise and accept there are those that get the bulk of their caravanning pleasure from the gadgetry they can accumulate and deploy. That's not unique to this hobby of course.
Plus of course others, whilst caravanners are not "touring" caravanners.
As some would tell us correctly, "To Each His Own...."

We have two caravans with the E&P system fitted as standard and no issues with either of them. Made life a lot easier for us fitting the ALKO wheel locks and levelling the caravan.

Do you mean steadies as jacks are generally in the middle of the caravan to jack up the centre of the caravan to level it side to side. Steadies are not supposed to "jack up" the caravan.

The OP does mention that some of us may have had an issue with the E&P system and I was replying to that aspect of their post and I like to think that it was very relevant?

I know several engineers who have removed these systems from caravans at the owners request after 'lockups' and other system failures , IMO great for motorhomes not so for caravans as Mr Plodd says "a solution to a problem that doesn't exist". the photo shows one thats been removed . Brings back memories of Johnny 5 -( No disassemble!)

I have been a member of two Buccaneer forums where the E&P is fitted as standard and have never heard of any one requesting to have the unit removed. All steadies will also need to be replaced as they do not have the winder part on them.

In addition panels will have holes in them where the control unit was located and it would be a big hole right by the doorway. Lastly, who is going to buy a Buccaneer second hand where the unit has been removed which includes the centre jacks and front and rear steadies?

Well its made for interesting reading, I don't have the big foot on the bottom of the legs which are quite expensive if I don't keep them. But for the time being I might just buy the AL-KO feet and see. One thing I have noticed is that even on a level pitch the legs are a long way down I do use wooden blocks on the front legs so not to have to wind them down so far, The caravan is an Adria which seems to sit higher off the ground.

I think we all keep woden/plastic blocks of one sort or another to help level the caravan without extending the legs too far ( as the leg approaches 90 degrees the vertical movement decreases) , I even heard of one caravaner who took the highside wheel off when pitching up sideways on a slope!.

I have a set of 4 blocks, each comprising 4 pieces which interlock to form a 100mm cube - much lighter and more compact to store than wooden blocks.
