Shawsmead CC site, Aberaeron

I haven't stayed there Jeff but did check it out when in the area. Its the usual C.C. site standard, being on a slope if I remember rightly. It was quiet too. I dont know where you live but if you decide to stay there dont tow using the A482 from near Llandovery via Lampeter. The road is full of bends all the way to Lampeter. I'm told its best to get to it via the A487.

Cheers Lord B. If I remember rightly, the A482 follows an old horse-drawn coach route, where a coach went off the track and lots of people died, many years ago. Trouble is, coming from just north of Cardiff, it's the obvious route. The 487's a hellova trek out of my way, although I could go via Carmarthen.

We stayed at CC Shawsmead a few years back. It's on a slope but the pitching areas are terraced so they're level. It's a very busy site during school holidays. The loos/showers were in a porta-cabin when we were there but they've been rebuilt since. If you want a peaceful site, look elsewhere!

I'm not sure about walking into Aberaeron or New Quay, they're only about 3 miles but I don't know about paths.

Check out the OS 50,000 series map at your local library.
