shocker fixing

Hi All. Ive just today fitted a pair of Alko shock absorbers to my caravans euro axle, and I must say that I found the bottom bracket that fits into the slot cut out on the suspension trailing arm is a real strange set up, don't get me wrong, it seems to work fine but I've never seen such a strange fixing. Is there any reason why Alko would design such a oddity.

Hi Barkas

Yes i would agree with you the fitting does work OK but the hole thing seem the incorrect way to fit shock absorbers. You would think the shock would be fitted the other side for one as the swinging arm would go up as it its a bump. In al-ko case the shock is being pulled out when a bump is it.
