While looking at caravans recently couldn't help overhearing a remark from a gentleman who'd brought his 3 year old van in for assessment for a leak. He apologised, two or three times that his van was very dirty as he had been halfway through cleaning it when the pressure washer broke down.

Can't help wondering how his warranty claim progressed after that .

Our manual is very clear about NOT pressure washing, ever.

I agree he was stupid to admit to pressure washing. But used properly, logically and with common sense, it should not be a problem. It is just a matter of holding the lance at a distance where it can work effectively but without damage. If anyone does not feel confident then it is best they don't do it.

We used a pressure washer on one of our previous caravans with no ill effects. Dealers use pressure washers to clean caravans. It is using the correct way that counts and avoiding high pressure around windows and doors.

If the dealer relays that to the maker I think he has just lost any chance of a warranty claim. You can use ours with the brush attached as that limits the pressure to something very low, so possibly that is what he meant. Pressure washers area no no if used at full power though.
