Just come home from a site operating Robot Mowers and how peaceful it was. No noisey tractors and they were all going about their job each day totally noiseless and leaving the pitches mown immaculate with stripes looking like Tennis courts.

The Royal Porthcawl Golf Club were using them when I was walking the Wales Coastal Path a few weeks back. First time I saw one was in 2012 outside Prague castle.

Was interesting seeing how they manoeuvred around obstacles such as hookup cables and the caravans. When starting to get dusk their lights automatically came on

Do they retire to “kennels” for a recharge, the one in Prague did but I guess it was safe there given the military security, whereas I think that the golf course ones were collected and no “kennels” visible on the course.

I don’t know when they charged, as they were still mowing when we pulled blinds in evening and at 7am next day we’re still mowing. I can only presume they self dock during the night somewhere. There was at least 3 of them.

There was one at Castlerigg Hall site. Doing a great job. Our usually quiet and placid collie , however, was beside herself and almost dragged me across the grass to get to it. She must have thought it was some weird sort of squirrel.
