From what i remember those sinks are self supporting when in the open position & just flip back up into place as shown in your photo, have you a photo with it open to show how it looks near the hinge point ?

I agree with sprocket. That is a modern version of my old one, and there are no support brackets. It locks down into position. But bear in mind it is not designed to support more than a sink full of water!

Sorry, it's a 2003 Corona 475 caravan.

Thanks for your replies. It's not actually self supporting. If you look at the bottom right of the picture you notice four holes where a plastic bracket was. There is a bracket that requires replacing on the opposite wall as well.

I've contacted Eldis but they can't tell me which unit it is

The holes weren't for a toilet roll or towel holder, by chance?

Stu - do you have any evidence that there should be supports, eg photo of similar van or a sink in a different van? Were there any in the van in the first place (that you saw) and they broke off?

Here's a link to the 2003 handbook and I can't see any mention of supports or brackets, but it does mention the tap for the tip up sink:
AVANT… AND CORONA
The AvantÈ and Corona caravan will be fitted
with either the Whale Elegance tap and shower
combination tap or (those models with tip-up sink
basins) a separate Whale Elegance tap and
Whale Elegance shower unit.
