Sites in Burgundy

We are thinking of going to the Burgundy region next year, anybody have any ideas of good sites in that region

Thanks

Kevin H

Cahteau de L'Eperviere is a good site. It is one of the Castels chain, so good facilities and well-kept. Not far south of Chalons -sur- Saone, so handy for Autoroute and numerous excellent Wine Domaines and Co-operatives.

You can book direct or through Carefree with the c and cc.

Hi Kevin - we spent a very pleasant (if rather wet) week at the 3 star La Grappe D'OR in Meurseault (very close to Beaune). Although the pitches are not very big the views over the vineyards are superb and you can buy wine direct from any of the world famous wine villages that are within easy reach of the site. The site is only 5 miles from the A6 Autoroute. Meurseault is within walking distance - a couple of bars/restaurants and a small but adequate supermarket. Site itself is a bit like a transit camp with lots of overnight stopovers, but generally very pleasant, clean and quiet. Management are very helpful, especially if you let them know you have a large outfit. Superb restaurant on site.

Trust this helps

I know just what you mean, Kevin, but you may be surprised just how quickly they come to see things from your point of view. Our youngest is now 26, and only a few years ago poured scorn of the whole concept of caravanning. She now can't wait to borrow our 'van at every opportunity and is saving up for a folding camper for her family to use!

On the recommendation of relatives, we stayed at an excellent little site at St. Boil for a couple of days last year. It is near to Buxy and approx 15 miles from Chalon sur Saone. In June it was very popular and I would advise booking. There is a small bar and eaterie and also a covered pool. Details will be in the CC Europe 1 guide.

Kevin, we stayed at Camping Le Etang de Fouche which is at Arnay de Luc for a week this summer. It is informal and friendly with a good mix of nationalities. www.campingfouche.com
