Sites in Lincolnshire

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have recommendations for places they like to stay in Lincolnshire? I'm writing a feature on the county for the next issue of Practical Motorhome, and it would be great to have some personal recommendations.

It can be CLs and CSs, smaller touring parks, or big holiday centres - just as long as you enjoy staying there!

Thanks in advance for your help.

We did a tour of the Wolds in 2016 and stayed at the upmarket Greetham Retreat CL when we did Lincolnshire Wolds. We had a great time on the site, which has been thoughtfully designed, and especially in the Wolds countryside, just wandering along the lanes and looking at what was growing in the fields.

We found the towns disappointing except for Grimsby - industry and the Fishing Heritage Centre, the villages a joy, and the coast interesting. Lincoln is worth a visit if you are into history and walking up steep hills.

We had a pleasant stay at the Caravan Club site at Sutton on Sea a few years ago. It was a nice tidy site with a modern shower block. the staff were friendly and helpful and had even prepared a note for everyone giving directions for the walk to the sea front.

Our favourite site though is the Caravan Club CL near Woodhall Spa called Oaklea. It has a mix of grass and hardstand pitches and is set in the most amazing parkland and woods - our dog loved it! The owner was really helpful, getting us the pitch we wanted and even let us have the password to his home's WiFi. Woodhall Spa is a lovely little town and the deli on the main street sells the most amazing cakes and savouries.

Sorry if this post is late for your article but Lincolnshire is well worth a visit.
