Sites in Normandy

Up for my fisrt trip with the 'van to France in 2008, end August, beginning September and would welcome some advice as to where to stay, in and around the Bayeux area. Preferably somewhere with statics for my mate and his family to join us. It would need to be within easy reach of Cherbourg too.

Hi, Last year we stayed at Chateau lez Eaux near Granville the touring van area was spotless as was the toilet facilities. There is a fishing lake with free access, an open pool and a covered water park. The site is owned by Castell camping and there are cabins available either direct from them or via eurocamp or keycamp. We found the campsite to be surprisingly peaceful and well situated for easy access to good beaches, Mont St Michel and about an hours drive from both Cherbourg and Bayeux. They have a website so have a look .

regards

Steve

Camping Le Brevedent, which is in the Castels group, is terrific. We stayed there, it is beautiful, in an idyllic and picturesque valley, with its own small lake and surrounded by very mature trees. Very warm welcome. Highly recommended.
