Let us know if you go and how it is.We are an hour and a half away.Nice retreat for the weekend.Love the area to bits!Looked in end of last year but havent stayed there yet.We felt it is surely our sort of place.Space and safety and near the sea but not right beside it.Countryside.

We had a season pitch at Fallowfield Dene Caravan Park, Acomb, outside of Hexham for 27 years. It was an excellent site, we left in 2003 I understand they still have season pitches. Have a look at http://www.fallowfielddene.co.uk/

Good luck

PS, should have said that this site is excellently situated. Easy to travel to Carlisle and Penrith in Cumbria or the Scottish Borders or the East coast.
