Suggest Beecraigs Country Park Near Linlithgow. www.beecraigs.com/campsite/campsite.htm

A nice site, it used to be a bit shady but some tree removal has greatly improved this.

Lots of walks on the doorstep and the Deer Farm is next door and - will not go on any more - have a look at the web site and see what you think.
 
Try the Mortonhall site. It is situated in a country estate within the Edinburgh boundary. Although it used to close for the winter it stayed open last year for the New Year festivities and was busy. I was up there last week and still open, although very quiet. It is on a bus route into town, every 20 minutes and you get an All Day Pass for
