sky tv in france

help tried to get sky in france have a lined dish to astra 28east but can only get astra 1b 19.2 east which is german have 70 percent signal on 28 east but no picture can anyone tell me is my lnb not working right or any clues of getting this working thanks nigel

If you have a programmed box try selecting a channel (BBC 1) and see if that helps when tuning.

Otherwise you are probably still on the wrong satellite as signal strength could be indicated from that and you will not be getting any channels from Astra28.

If you have a freesat box just scan a couple of transponders and that should tell you if you are on Astra28.

If you do have the wrong satellite scan east a little, the sat you think is Astra19 could be Hotbird13 and you could still be thinking Astra19 is Astra28.

I believe Astra19 and Hotbird13 are stronger in southern France as Astra28 is biased towards UK.

Nigel,

I find it best to turn the dish from East to South as Astra 28.2 is the first satellite encountered.

If you have a compass, line the dish up to 151.8 degrees.

If you have a good "quality" reading on the TV check that the Network ID is 0002 and the Transport Stream is 07d4....this is the one you want.

The angle of inclination is too steep

Try lowering the dish a couple of degrees.

I have a pro sat meter and even that was fooled last month in Brittany

It read the correct satellite but it was on Hotbird at 13deg and the wrog nos came up on the Sky box

Switch off the digi box to reset and try again with an angle of inclination about 25 deg
