skylight cleaning!

I've a Bailey Ranger 2008, Does anyone have any good tips on how to clean between the two layers on the skylights as they are getting alot of dirt and dust in them?

I wish someone would put a reply here as I would like to know aswell. The back skylight in our Lunar Quasar 615 is very grubby between the plastic and I don't want to take it apart. Denise.

Hi Rob and Denise,

I have cleaned mine in the past by removing the 4 screws that hold the arms/hinges to the van and removing the whole roof light. Immerse in warm soapy water and use a long thin flexible bottle brush to clean in between the two layers. Rinse and replace. If you can not obtain a thin bottle brush, just the action of agitating under water will clean it appreciably.

Hope this helps

Jim

Thanks James,

I did look at the possibility of taking them out but had second thougths. I spent 5 hours on Sunday cleaning the my van from top to bottom, everthing was sparkling apart from the skylights. I shall give it a go!

Thanks once again.

Regarding the four screws holding the arms, I can't get to the screw heads on my caravan(Swift Challenger 480) There appears to be an insert in the hole where the screw goes in. I have tried to remove these inserts but to no avail. Anybody any ideas.Ken
